House at the end of our road

Posted by Picasa Who would live in a house like this?

Hi Jeremy. Finally can see your blog again. I'm going up to Placerville tomorrow. Historic gold country community. Expect to get lots of pictures to share.

This house looks very lonesome, but with tremendous possibilities. I see no trees, no big boulders, no hiding places for little animals. Who does live here?
Art class has begun, and you just can't imagine how wonderful I feel. Had to make two different trips to SF to see a Monet exhibit, and then two others, and I rode BART into SF, then their transit system. Weather was really nice, and I picked up the last of my art paper, and I thought of you as I was hoofing it through Union Square. You would like it here - to visit, of course. Thinking of saving all my art work on another blog with no comments, just the works, from the first to the last. Suggestions?

Just been having a quick scroll through. I was sure I'd made some comments on earlier posts (underneath the magenta pylon for instance, but they're not there. Sometimes they don't seem to 'take' for some reason. I suspect it is because I'm too impatient.

I was wondering if you'd read Graham Swift's Waterland. Just looking at these pictures reminds me very strongly of this place.

Annie- I enjoyed the blog postcard. There's no home like Placerville.

Biene- I've got visions of you causing traffic chaos and enjoying every minute of it. That blog sounds like a great idea. I'd love to see it. My suggestion would be - do it!

Clare- Impatient? Surely not. I have got to copying every comment before trying to post them because I've lost so many.
Your book has finally arrived here. It took ages as I didn't realize it was being sent by pedalo from New York. Now I've just go to try and read it. Not that there is anything scary about your writing style (already I am on page 2) but I haven't actually read a novel for about 18 years as I've been a bit busy. I will try my best, though.

oh yes! yes! yes! where is it?

I would! Me and Million Dollar Home Makeovers!

Miss R- It's just in the next road one of the fast-disappearing fen houses.

Ascender..._this place is so small that it would be a challenge to spend that much!
