A while ago I posted a photo of the globe artichokes in the garden. We was looking forward to them. As my attentions have been elsewhere, they got left. Last night I was chopping back some huge nettles when I rediscovered them, now all flowering. we will have to wait until next year to have any to eat, but I did think that they looked fabulous.

Comments:
At least you found them alive. It's that wonderful 'growing' weather you have, against this heat and dryness we experience. All of our artichokes are grown in the strip area along the coast. Nothing in the Valley, which sports other things. Don't you just love that color?

What an amazing color. I find it interesting that a tinge of violet also lives on the tips of the leaves.

I'm glad that you liked them. I've cut some off to put in the house. A few bugs in them, though.

I had no idea artichokes bloomed! Lovely.

Stop back by ... I think cheese is the culprit!

Smooch,
The Tart
