The Derwent

Rivers don't get much better than this. This is the river Derwent as it passes by Hathersage.

All your photos are just lovely.

Beautiful. This one would be good blown up large to go on the wall. I remember a very good youth hostel in Hathersage - my first holiday with just my friends. We walked for miles and were so disorganised we ended up having tinned sponge pudding and custard for breakfast.

I just love rivers and this one is great! All your cavern pics were so cool!

Thanks. It was such a beautiful place, though to be honest I can't even remember taking this photo.

when I was little, I had a huge tin of coloured pencils called DERWENTS - I guess they were named after the river. I sure treasured those pencils.
this is a glorious photo - the river looks so unpolluted and the area looks so green - lucky you to have seen this!
