Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
There is a park in Ely, by the river, in which the council have placed a water-feature consisting of a rock with water cascading over it. Under it he Muscovy duck chicks have learned to gather, and aren't they sweeeet?

I remember our friend had a muscovy duck who would lay eggs - even though she didn't have a mate - and would sit on these eggs for two weeks in a complete trance. Nothing but *nothing* would remove her, she wouldn't eat at all! That's motherly dedication for you (us women will do all sorts...)!
Ooooh, I got your comment too and will tune in tonight - thanks for the heads-up!

Jeremy, you should see all the ducks around the lake here. We've gone from a few to an explosion of ducks. They are everywhere, even the road. There will be a lot of courting going on soon. We don't have an moscovy ducks though. Haven't seen any of the fluffy yellow little guys. Hummmm . . .
Janet, Biene- They are unbelievably sweet things. We were watching them for ages.
Vintagepretty- Strange things, muscovy ducks. The mother of these ones was giving us a steely look.
Annie- Someone must be feeding them too much. The trouble with ducks is that they breed like rabbits!
