I had to look up the thirty years war as I wasn't even sure where it was fought. We have come a long way since then, as no-one would use religion as an excuse to start a war now, would they?

Thanks for those compliments. they are usually painted using photo's as a starting point. The sun tends to move too quickly for me at that time of day.
 

So, what was wrong with the other photo? I liked it. How many other people do you know who like to stand/hop on one leg...and then have their picture taken? Of course, that smoking jacket is certainly very snazzy, and makes you look smart, sophisticated, very refined and mature! Sort of 'hamistic.'
 

I thought it was rather Wildeian. I don't always dress like that, you know. Normally I relax in one of my suits of armour from our baronial hall collection.However, I can re-install the old photo if you find this one unsetling.

I've been trying to find out the meaning of hamistic. If you're implying that I look like a poor actor hamming it up, then you're probably not far wrong.
