Boots and Konik Ponies
Boots spotted in an Ely back-street. An homage to Annie's photo. They have been there for years. There are horseshoes on the line too. This picture also features St Mary's Church, Ely Cathedral and the Alms Houses and possibly Oliver Cromwell's house, but not from the usual tourist angles.
Wild Konik ponies at Wicken Fen, Cambridgeshire. These wetland ponies have been introduced in the last few years and are making a positive impact on the re-created fenland.

Thanks for stopping by my site! I've been perusing your photographs and they're so beautiful. What an exquisite corner of the world you live in! Ponies and cathedrals... wonderful.
What stunning photos, Jeremy! I just finished a term paper on the Thirty Years War, and the houses just fit right in. And, I love horses - these are so wonderful. I'm starting a list of the places I want to see, after Thurso, next year.
What pretty ponies. Hummm, seems like a Brit group sang a song about all the pretty ponies, right? Love the old buildings too. Oh, and yeah, after a while the shoes DO smell. Gee, thanks a lot J. LOL Oh, and glad to see that Laini has discovered you (not to mention, my friend Biene, too). Laini is a really cool lady from Oregon and a gifted artist and writer.
I'm always so nosy, but...have you ever googled "the fens" and looked at the wikiepedia(?) site for it? This is a great article. No wonder the ponies are doing so well.
Jeremy, thanks for your kind comments on my blog yesterday. i love this picture of the ponies, and your art work is fantastic - would love to see more of it here

Well, color me stupid!!! I didn't even see the shoes, so I came back in here, and there they are! I was just into the 'hood.' I'm glad you said something, jeremy.
You know, Jeremy, the 'boots'photo is really stunning. I've been in here a couple of times, and each time I see something else-either the wall, or the stairs, or the walk from what appears the back of the house or garage, the window. I shall be back, I know, to look for more things. I enlarged it, but it comes out large, and then reduces in size. Is there something I can do to enlarge it it like, maybe, three or four times? There is so much to see.
