Spring is now reluctantly beginning here. This little chap appeared yesterday. Despite his ponty nose, he's a harmless bee fly, or bombylius major to his friends. He's about hlf an inch long. Not that uncommon, but a sign of the end of winter. I also saw two bats in the garden last night. I didn't attempt to photograph them, so I took a photo of the sunset instead.

Comments:
Hi Jeremy. I have never seen or heard of such a fly. And the needle nose snout looks positively lethal. But how interesting. I'm running to Google.

All's well Jeremy, thanks. Kris just had the mother of all stomach upsets. It was bad enough that I took her to ER. Sacred me to death and it's not as if she is a child anymore. She's better now thank goodness.
